Public Reaction and Concerns

Passenger associations and travel committees have voiced strong concern over the large-scale cancellations. They criticised the lack of prior consultation with stakeholders and the absence of alternative travel arrangements for daily and weekly commuters.

Local travel groups are urging the railway authorities to reconsider the suspension plan or implement parallel solutions to minimise disruption to public movement.

The railway authorities have yet to respond to these demands, and no interim measures have been announced.

Background

The electrification of the Sakleshpur–Subrahmanya Road section is part of a broader initiative to modernise and improve the efficiency of railway services across Karnataka. However, suspending crucial daytime services has sparked dissatisfaction among passengers who rely heavily on these routes for business and personal travel.

Affected travellers are advised to check official railway announcements and explore alternative modes of transport during this period.
