Initiative Aimed at Strengthening Digital India Vision and Enhancing Transparency at Grassroots Level
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday called upon public representatives and government officials to intensify efforts in promoting the state government's 'My Gov' portal. The initiative is specifically designed to expedite rural development by promptly addressing local issues.
The 'My Gov' portal allows citizens to upload photographs highlighting problems such as damaged roads or blocked drains, requiring immediate governmental attention. Once uploaded, these concerns can swiftly be addressed by relevant authorities.
"If any issue remains unresolved, it directly escalates to the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary for immediate action," Chief Minister Saha emphasized during an event held in Agartala.
Inspired by Digital India Vision
Saha further shared how this innovative approach drew appreciation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "When I presented this concept at the Chief Ministers' conclave in Delhi, Prime Minister Modi was greatly impressed. Inspired by Tripura's success, other states are now exploring similar digital solutions for rapid rural issue resolution," he remarked.
He highlighted the role of the portal in furthering PM Modi’s vision of Digital India, urging local representatives and officials to actively spread awareness and encourage public participation.
Pioneering E-Governance in Tripura
Chief Minister Saha also underscored Tripura’s pioneering role in adopting comprehensive e-governance practices. "Tripura is currently the only state where e-governance has been implemented right from the state level down to the gram panchayats. Panchayat offices are already making digital payments and storing official documents electronically, ensuring higher transparency and accountability," he stated.
Boosting Women Empowerment
Highlighting Tripura’s progressive stance on women empowerment, Saha informed that women currently lead four Panchayat Samities in the state. "I have already reported this accomplishment to the Prime Minister. It clearly demonstrates our commitment to empowering women at the grassroots," he added.
Recognition for Panchayati Raj Management
Asserting the effectiveness of the three-tier Panchayati Raj system in Tripura, the Chief Minister proudly announced that the state has received seven national awards for exemplary management of Panchayati Raj institutions.
Chief Minister Saha’s call to popularise the 'My Gov' portal underscores the state's continued efforts toward inclusive digital governance and sustainable rural development.
