16-Year-Old Found Dead in Central Park; Police Detain Two Suspects Including Minor
New Delhi, May 17 – A 16-year-old boy was found murdered late Thursday night at Central Park in northeast Delhi’s Seelampur area, prompting swift police action and the detention of two suspects, including a minor.
The incident came to light around 11:30 p.m. during a routine patrol by police personnel. Officers discovered the victim, later identified as Rehan alias Seelampuriya, lying in a pool of blood between a bench and a walkway in the park.
Following the discovery, the local police station was immediately alerted. Senior officers along with a police team rushed to the scene and transported the teenager to JPC Hospital, where he was declared dead by doctors.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Seelampur police station.
Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams conducted an extensive inspection of the crime scene and collected key evidence to aid the investigation.
Police formed multiple teams to track down the perpetrators. “Two suspects, including a minor, have been apprehended and are currently being questioned in connection with the murder,” a senior police official stated.
Further investigation is underway to determine the motive and any possible connections between the victim and the suspects.
