Two arrested for abducting 2 girls in Jammu in separate incidents

Jammu, Feb 4 (PTI) – Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the abduction of two young women in separate incidents in Jammu, the police reported on Monday. Both victims have been successfully rescued.

The first incident occurred on January 19 when a woman filed a complaint at Domana police station, accusing Sonu Kumar, a resident of Nabyua Kallan in Uttar Pradesh, currently residing in Greater Kailash, of abducting her 16-year-old daughter. Following the complaint, police swiftly launched an investigation and registered a case.

In a separate incident on January 31, a second woman lodged a complaint at the Pouni Chak police post. She claimed that Mohammad Asfak, a resident of Jharkhand, had kidnapped her 24-year-old daughter from their home in Jammu. A case was registered and the investigation began promptly.

Special teams from Domana police station were assigned to locate the missing girls. Through diligent efforts and technical support, both women were rescued from locations outside the Union Territory. The accused individuals were apprehended in the process.

After completing all legal formalities, the victims were safely reunited with their families. The police have assured that further investigations into both cases are ongoing.
