Two Arrested for Murder of Youth in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur

Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, February 28: Two individuals, including a Prantiya Rakshak Dal (PRD) jawan, have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 21-year-old youth in Shahjahanpur district, officials confirmed on Friday.

Superintendent of Police (Rural) Manoj Kumar Awasthi stated that the body of the victim, Jatin, a resident of Prithvipur village under the Mirzapur police station, was discovered on February 23. His remains were found stuffed inside a sack and abandoned by the roadside. Following the discovery, authorities registered a case against unidentified suspects.

During the course of the investigation, police identified 50-year-old Shyamveer as a prime suspect. It was revealed that Shyamveer had a relationship with the victim. Further inquiries suggested that Jatin had been pressuring Shyamveer to engage in physical relations, which allegedly led to tensions between them.

According to police, Shyamveer, along with his brother Jaiveer, strangled Jatin using a towel. After committing the crime, they disposed of the body by placing it in a sack and abandoning it on the roadside.

Following the probe, both accused were arrested and subsequently sent to jail, SP Awasthi confirmed.

The Prantiya Rakshak Dal (PRD) is a community security force responsible for maintaining public peace and safeguarding lives and property.

Authorities continue their investigation to ensure justice is served in this case.
