Bhubaneswar, Feb 2 (PTI) – In a swift operation, Odisha Police apprehended two individuals, including one from neighboring Chhattisgarh, for allegedly stealing seven goats from a village in Bolangir district, an official reported on Sunday.
The accused reportedly broke into an animal shed on January 28 and took away the livestock before transporting them to Chhattisgarh. Acting on a complaint, authorities formed a special team to track down the culprits.
"Following an investigation, our team arrested the duo from Bhilai in Chhattisgarh's Durg district. They were produced in court today," stated Sadananda Pujhari, Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Patnagarh.
Police have so far rescued three of the stolen goats from the accused. Efforts are ongoing to recover the remaining animals.
