Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, May 15 – Two tragic incidents claimed lives in Amethi on Thursday, as police reported the death of an unidentified man on a railway track and a 70-year-old resident in a separate road accident.

Man Found Dead on Railway Track Near Tikaria​

Authorities discovered the body of an unidentified man near the Tikaria railway crossing on the Lucknow-Varanasi rail section, within the jurisdiction of the Gauriganj police station.
Gauriganj Station House Officer (SHO) Shyam Narayan Pandey said, "The body appears to have been hit by a train. We have sent it for post-mortem, and identification efforts are in progress." He added that the man’s clothes and other personal belongings are being examined to help ascertain his identity.

Elderly Man Killed in Road Accident Near Kanakpur​

In a separate incident, 70-year-old Om Prakash Agrahari, a resident of Ward No. 8 in Musafirkhana, was killed when a speeding car rammed into the e-rickshaw he was travelling in near Kanakpur village.
Musafirkhana SHO Vivek Singh confirmed, "Om Prakash sustained critical injuries and was rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Musafirkhana. He was declared dead on arrival."
The police have seized the car involved in the accident. However, the driver fled the scene and remains at large. Legal proceedings have been initiated in the matter.

Investigations Ongoing​

Police have launched separate investigations into both incidents. Post-mortem reports are awaited, and based on the findings, further action will follow.

Both cases underscore ongoing safety concerns in the region. Authorities are urging the public to be vigilant and cooperate in their inquiries.
