Two JJMP members surrender before police in Latehar

Latehar (Jharkhand), Feb 4 (PTI) – Two members of the Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP), a breakaway faction of the CPI (Maoist), surrendered before the police in Latehar district on Tuesday.

The individuals, identified as Pappu Sao and Chandan Prasad, turned themselves in at the office of Superintendent of Police Kumar Gaurav, according to an official police statement.

“Both were associated with the banned JJMP for several years and had been involved in criminal activities across multiple police station areas, including Balumath, Chandwa, and Latehar,” said SP Gaurav.

As per the statement, Pappu Sao was wanted in four cases, while Chandan Prasad had one case registered against him.

Their surrender is seen as a significant step in the ongoing efforts to curb Maoist-related activities in the region.
