Ballia, Uttar Pradesh – March 1: Tragedy struck in Basarikapur village as two men lost their lives in a fatal road accident on the Ballia-Bairia highway late Friday night. The deceased, identified as Pawan Pandey (28) and Santosh Pandey (25), were riding a motorcycle when they collided with an unidentified vehicle, police confirmed.
The accident occurred within the jurisdiction of Dubhar police station as the two victims were returning home after attending a wedding ceremony in Majhaunwa village.
Upon receiving information about the incident, local police, led by Station House Officer (SHO) Mithilesh Kumar, reached the spot and sent the bodies for a post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, the driver of the unidentified vehicle fled the scene.
Authorities have registered a case against the unknown driver, and an investigation is underway to trace the vehicle and ascertain the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Police have urged anyone with relevant information about the incident to come forward as they work to bring the responsible party to justice.
