Etah, Uttar Pradesh – February 28: A devastating road accident in Etah district claimed the lives of two young men, while two others sustained serious injuries when their motorcycles collided head-on in the early hours of Friday, police confirmed.
The incident occurred around 3 AM on the Jalesar-Firozabad road near Brijpur Barhela village. Shiva (18), a resident of Dharampur village in Sakrauli, was on his way home after picking up his cousin Rahul for his sister’s wedding, scheduled for Saturday. Meanwhile, Arbaz Ali (22), from Masroolgani in Firozabad district, was returning home with his friend Faizan after attending an Urs fair in Jalesar.
The collision was severe, leading to the immediate deaths of Shiva and Arbaz on the spot. Rahul and Faizan were critically injured and were rushed to an emergency hospital in Agra for treatment.
Shiva’s elder brother, Shivam, expressed his grief, stating that his younger brother was only a kilometer away from home when tragedy struck. He alleged that the accident was caused by a motorcycle coming from the wrong direction.
"Instead of preparing for my sister’s wedding, we are now preparing for my brother’s funeral," Shivam said in anguish.
A relative at the wedding lamented the sudden tragedy, recalling how the family had been preparing to welcome the groom’s procession but were now mourning the loss of a young life.
Police officials confirmed that both bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and further investigation is underway.
