JABALPUR, May 10 — In the backdrop of escalating military tensions between India and Pakistan, two men were detained in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur on Friday for allegedly taking photographs of a military area in the cantonment zone.The individuals, identified as Mohammad Zuber (32) and Mohammad Irfan (22), were apprehended by the Military Police while capturing images in a sensitive zone. The incident occurred amid nationwide heightened security across military establishments and vital infrastructure.
Station House Officer (SHO) Udaybhan Bagri confirmed the development and stated, “They were detained by the Military Police while taking photographs in the cantonment area. Upon initial questioning, they claimed they were doing so in the normal course and had no malicious intent.”
As a precautionary step, the duo was handed over to the local police for further interrogation. However, no formal case has been registered so far, Bagri added.
Security forces across the country have been on high alert due to the current geopolitical situation, with stringent surveillance around military bases and key installations. Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and avoid activities that could raise suspicion near protected zones.
