Two Thai Women Arrested at Delhi Airport for Smuggling Narcotics Worth ₹27 Crore

New Delhi, February 27 – Customs officials at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport have arrested two Thai nationals for allegedly smuggling narcotics worth ₹27.09 crore into India. The women were intercepted upon arrival from Phuket, Thailand, on February 19.

A detailed examination of their luggage led to the discovery of 54 packets of a green-colored narcotic substance, suspected to be marijuana, concealed in four trolley bags. The total weight of the seized contraband was 27.08 kg.

Authorities conducted diagnostic tests, confirming the nature of the substance, following which the duo was taken into custody. The confiscated narcotics have been valued at approximately ₹27.09 crore.

Further investigations are underway to determine the source and intended distribution network of the smuggled drugs.
