Two Wanted Criminals Arrested After Encounter with Noida Police

Noida, Feb 28: Two criminals involved in multiple robbery cases across the National Capital Region (NCR) were arrested following an encounter with Noida police, officials confirmed on Friday.

The accused, identified as Vijay (25) from Faridabad, Haryana, and Naushad (22) from Morna village, Noida, were intercepted during a routine police check near Amity School roundabout in Sector-44 late Thursday night.

According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Sumit Kumar Shukla, the duo, traveling on a motorcycle, was asked to stop by police officers. Instead of complying, they opened fire and attempted to flee.

In response, the police fired back, injuring Vijay in the leg. While Naushad initially managed to escape, he was later caught by law enforcement.

Both suspects were wanted in dozens of robbery cases in the NCR, authorities said.

During the operation, police recovered eight stolen mobile phones, a country-made pistol, cartridges, and a motorcycle from the accused.

The arrested criminals will now face legal proceedings as police continue their investigation into their past offenses.
