Accident Occurred While Workers Carried Iron Ladder to Terrace​


In a tragic incident in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, two workers lost their lives after being electrocuted while working at a residential property. The accident took place on Saturday afternoon in Harchanda village.


Mohammad Ahmed (35) and Afzal (40), both hailing from the neighboring district of Gonda, had been employed for several days at a house owned by Sajjan. According to police reports, the workers were moving an iron ladder toward the terrace when it accidentally touched an overhead high-tension electric wire near the house.


Immediate Death Due to Severe Electric Shock​


The contact with the live wire resulted in a severe electric shock, causing both Ahmed and Afzal to collapse immediately. They were declared dead on the spot by emergency responders who arrived shortly afterward.


Jarwal Road Station House Officer (SHO), Ramesh Rawat, confirmed the incident, stating that the bodies have been sent for postmortem examination. He also mentioned that further legal proceedings related to the case are currently underway.


The incident highlights the urgent need for increased awareness and precautions when working around high-voltage power lines, particularly in residential construction sites.
