The highly anticipated sixth edition of Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT), India’s premier table tennis league, is scheduled to take place from May 29 to June 15, 2025, in Ahmedabad. Organisers confirmed the exciting news on Friday, marking the city's debut as host for this prestigious sporting event.

Ahmedabad’s EKA Arena Chosen as Venue

The tournament will unfold at the state-of-the-art EKA Arena, a renowned venue previously famed for successfully hosting high-profile events such as the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup and the 2019 Intercontinental Football Cup. With this venue selection, Ahmedabad is set to enhance its growing reputation as a sports hub in India.

Growing Popularity of Ultimate Table Tennis

As UTT continues to rise in prominence, eight elite teams featuring India’s top talent and global table tennis stars will compete fiercely for the coveted championship. Defending champions, the Goa Challengers, are set to return with their eyes firmly fixed on making history by clinching an unprecedented third UTT title.

Speaking on the league's influence, Table Tennis Federation of India Secretary Kamlesh Mehta stated, "Ultimate Table Tennis has been instrumental in transforming the table tennis landscape in India, providing our players with an unparalleled platform to compete against top international talent."

Tournament Format and Schedule

The upcoming edition will feature eight teams divided into two groups of four. Each team will play five ties during the league phase, consisting of matches against all three opponents in their own group and two randomly drawn teams from the other group. The top four teams after the league phase will qualify for the knockout stages, culminating in the grand finale scheduled for June 15.

Player Composition and Matches

Each of the participating teams will comprise six players, including two international stars. Matches will consist of five ties per encounter, including two women's singles matches, two men's singles matches, and a mixed doubles clash, providing fans with diverse and thrilling table tennis action.

Goa Challengers Eyeing Historic Third Title

Last year, the Goa Challengers emerged victorious, defeating Dabang Delhi TTC in the finals, making them the first team ever to secure two UTT titles since the league's inception. Fans eagerly anticipate if the reigning champions can extend their dominance with a record-setting third title.

The countdown has begun for what promises to be a spectacular showcase of skill and passion in Indian table tennis at UTT 2025.
