Ultimate Table Tennis Welcomes Kolkata ThunderBlades as New Franchise, Puneri Paltan Exits

UTT Season 6 to Kick Off in Ahmedabad from May 29 to June 15

New Delhi, April 1 – Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) is set to return with its sixth season, featuring a significant shake-up in its franchise lineup. The league has introduced a new team, Kolkata ThunderBlades, while Puneri Paltan has exited the competition. Despite the changes, the tournament will maintain its eight-team format.

Kolkata ThunderBlades Joins as New Franchise

The newly inducted Kolkata ThunderBlades will debut this season, co-owned by Uneecops Group and MVikas Group. Former table tennis player Anshul Garg has been appointed as the Team Director, aiming to lead the team with a strategic and competitive edge.

Puneri Paltan Exits, Bengaluru Smashers Rebrand as Pune Jaguars

The departure of Puneri Paltan from the league has also prompted a rebranding move. The Bengaluru Smashers, previously owned by the Punit Balan Group, have been renamed Pune Jaguars. With this change, there will be no Bengaluru-based team in this season’s lineup.

Ahmedabad to Host UTT for the First Time

For the first time, UTT will be hosted in Ahmedabad, with the league scheduled to run from May 29 to June 15. The new venue and fresh team dynamics are expected to bring renewed excitement to the league.

UTT Co-Promoters Express Optimism

UTT co-promoters Vita Dani and Niraj Bajaj welcomed the additions, stating,

“We are certain they will add a unique colour to the UTT tapestry. Each season, UTT has grown in stature, bringing together top Indian and international talent in a fiercely competitive environment. With a new team and a first-time venue in Ahmedabad, Season 6 will build on that promise and deliver high-quality table tennis and thrilling action for players and fans alike.”

Stay tuned for more updates on fixtures, squads, and match schedules as UTT Season 6 approaches.
