Pays Tribute to Pokhran Nuclear Test and India's Technological Prowess​

Lucknow, May 11 – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his greetings on National Technology Day, paying tribute to India's scientific achievements and the pivotal role of Indian scientists in building a self-reliant nation.

In a post on social media platform X, the Chief Minister wrote in Hindi, "Happy National Technology Day to all the scientists involved in building the 'New India'! On this day, by conducting the Pokhran nuclear test, our scientists had taken a new step towards achieving the resolve of 'Strong India, Capable India' ('Samarth Bharat, Saksham Bharat') and established our scientific consciousness on the global stage."

National Technology Day is observed annually on May 11 to commemorate India's successful nuclear tests conducted in 1998 under Operation Shakti. The historic day also marks the maiden flight of the indigenous aircraft Hansa-3, showcasing the nation’s growing technological capabilities.

The occasion was officially designated as National Technology Day by then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in recognition of these landmark achievements.

The Chief Minister's message underscored the significance of scientific innovation in shaping a resilient and empowered India.
