Ayodhya (UP), Feb 3 (PTI) – A 60-year-old Dalit security guard was allegedly beaten to death by unidentified individuals in Ayodhya, police reported on Monday.
The victim, identified as Dhruv Kumar alias Bechai, was employed as a security guard at an under-construction building. According to officials, the tragic incident took place on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.
Kumar was brutally attacked with iron rods and sticks, leaving him severely injured. Locals rushed him to a district hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Additional Superintendent of Police Madhuvan Kumar Singh confirmed that a case has been registered against unknown assailants, and an investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the culprits.
Authorities are probing possible motives behind the crime, while local residents have expressed concerns over security in the area.
