Lucknow, May 15 – In response to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced a significant upgrade to its internal security mechanism, aiming to bolster the state’s emergency preparedness and resilience.
Following Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's directive, the civil defence system, which currently operates in 15 districts, will now be rolled out across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Statewide Civil Defence Expansion
An official statement issued Thursday detailed that the move is intended to enhance emergency response capabilities and build a robust civil defence infrastructure statewide. The initiative focuses on safeguarding citizens during crises and ensuring effective disaster relief operations.Trained Volunteers for Rapid Response
Volunteers will be trained in essential areas such as disaster management, first aid, and relief work as part of the strategy. These individuals will form the backbone of the civil defence network, enabling swift and coordinated responses during emergencies.Training Centres and Public Participation
To support the expansion, the government has laid out a comprehensive action plan directing officials to establish civil defence training centres in every district.
