Kolkata, Feb 3 (PTI): The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Monday strongly criticized the Uttar Pradesh government following the discovery of a 22-year-old Dalit woman’s mutilated body in Ayodhya. The party alleged that the state, under BJP rule, has become a “land of fear, atrocities, and injustice,” raising serious concerns over law and order.
In a scathing attack on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the TMC questioned his claims of ensuring security and governance in the state.
“Uttar Pradesh under @BJP4India’s rule is a land of fear, atrocities, and injustice. A 22-year-old Dalit woman’s mutilated, unclothed body was found in a canal in Ayodhya—her eyes gouged out, her body bearing deep wounds and fractures. Her family alleges gang rape and murder, yet the BJP government remains silent. No arrests. No accountability,” the TMC stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
The party also criticized the effectiveness of the BJP-led government’s 'Beti Bachao' initiative, alleging that Dalit women in Uttar Pradesh were being subjected to rape and murder with no justice being served.
“CM @myogiadityanath, where is your so-called ‘law and order’? Where is your fake ‘Beti Bachao’ propaganda now? Dalit women are being raped and murdered in your Uttar Pradesh, and you look the other way,” the TMC further alleged.
