JAMMU, FEBRUARY 11: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah assured the Legislative Assembly that the government will only digitize accurate and verified land records, emphasizing that there will be no rush in the process.
Responding during Question Hour, he acknowledged that errors have been reported, with some land either incorrectly recorded or unregistered. "We are not in a rush to complete the process in six months. What we need is accuracy," he said, adding that no incorrect record will be digitized and suggestions from MLAs will be considered.
Earlier, Minister Javed Ahmed Rana, replying on behalf of the Chief Minister to a question by MLA Peerzada Feroz Ahmed, informed the House that 15,516 non-quasi-judicial errors have been rectified in the Tehsils of Devsar, Frisal, and Qaimoh. He said that 185 quasi-judicial errors detected in the digitized Jamabandis have been referred to the competent authorities for action.
He added that the error rectification process is ongoing, and the Jamabandis will be read publicly after completion. The Minister also stated that no proprietary land was washed away in the recent floods in Kulgam, and one landless beneficiary in Qaimoh has been allotted five marlas under PMAY-G.
