Agra (UP), Feb 3 (PTI) – A 28-year-old jawan of the Uttar Pradesh Special Security Force (UPSSF) was found dead in his rented home in Agra after allegedly hanging himself, officials confirmed on Monday.
The deceased, identified as Ajay Singh, was posted at the Agra unit of UPSSF and was assigned security duty at the civil court premises. He lived in a rented accommodation in Shastripuram with his wife, Anjali, and their one-year-old daughter.
According to Inspector (Crime) Shailendra of the Sikandra police station, Singh took his own life on Sunday night by hanging himself from a ceiling fan using a cloth. Initial reports suggest that Singh and his wife had an argument before the incident. However, no suicide note was found at the scene, and authorities are investigating the exact cause behind the act.
UPSSF Inspector Mukesh Yadav stated that Singh was a constable from the 2018 batch and had been serving in court security. His body has been sent for post-mortem, and further legal proceedings are underway.
The police continue their investigation into the case to determine any underlying factors that may have led to the tragedy.
