The committee's endorsement came shortly after Trump announced a “full and immediate” ceasefire between the two South Asian nations, attributing the resolution to talks mediated by the United States.

“President Trump is the PRESIDENT of PEACE!” the House Foreign Affairs Committee Majority, led by Representative Brian Mast, posted on social media platform X.
The committee’s message referenced President Trump’s earlier post on Truth Social, where he revealed the outcome of overnight diplomatic efforts:
“After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE. Congratulations to both Countries on using Common Sense and Great Intelligence. Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
