US House Foreign Affairs Committee Calls Trump ‘President of Peace’ After India-Pakistan Ceasefire

President Trump is 'President of Peace': US Foreign Affairs Committee on India-Pak ceasefire ...webp

New York/Washington, May 10 – In the wake of a swiftly brokered ceasefire between India and Pakistan, the US House Committee on Foreign Affairs has lauded President Donald Trump as the “President of Peace”. The committee's endorsement came shortly after Trump announced a “full and immediate” ceasefire between the two South Asian nations, attributing the resolution to talks mediated by the United States.

The ceasefire was declared following a severe escalation in hostilities, with both nations reportedly targeting each other's military installations in a dangerous exchange earlier in the day.

“President Trump is the PRESIDENT of PEACE!” the House Foreign Affairs Committee Majority, led by Representative Brian Mast, posted on social media platform X.

The committee’s message referenced President Trump’s earlier post on Truth Social, where he revealed the outcome of overnight diplomatic efforts:
“After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE. Congratulations to both Countries on using Common Sense and Great Intelligence. Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

The announcement marks a significant step in de-escalating tensions in the region and highlights the White House's direct diplomatic involvement in preventing further conflict.
