Mumbai, Feb 4 (PTI) – Vyacheslav Volodin, the Chairman of the State Duma, the Lower House of Russia’s Parliament, expressed confidence that bilateral trade between India and Russia is set to soar to USD 100 billion by 2030. Volodin made this announcement during a meeting with Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai on Tuesday.
The meeting, which was attended by Russian parliamentarians from various political groups, highlighted the strengthening ties between the two nations. Volodin emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation at both the state and regional levels, noting that "strong states make a strong nation."
"India and Russia share a long history of partnership, and we are committed to expanding our trade relations," Volodin stated. He expressed optimism about the future of bilateral trade and hoped to see the USD 100 billion milestone reached by 2030.
In addition, Volodin invited Maharashtra Governor Radhakrishnan and Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar to visit Russia, further strengthening the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
This visit marks a significant step towards closer collaboration between India and Russia, with an eye on expanding economic and political ties in the coming years.
