Lucknow, February 9 Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly's budget session, Samajwadi Party MLAs on Monday staged a protest within the Assembly premises, protesting against what they alleged were anti-people policies by the state government.
Holding placards, they accused the BJP government of infringing upon the rights of the PDA (Picchde Dalit Alpsankhyak) community.
Party legislator Sachin Yadav, who was holding a poster of Rani Ahilyabai Holkar, raised the issue of demolitions at Manikarnika Ghat in Varanasi, alleging that the government was disrespecting Holkar, who had developed the ghats nearly 300 years ago.
