CM Yogi Accuses Samajwadi Party of Links with Cow Slaughter and Smugglers
Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh – April 1, 2025: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath sharply criticized the Samajwadi Party and its leader Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday, alleging the party's ties to butchers and involvement in cow slaughter during its tenure.
Addressing an event in Bareilly, Adityanath responded forcefully to recent remarks by Akhilesh Yadav, who had sarcastically claimed the BJP preferred "durgandh" (foul smell), symbolized by building "gaushalas" (cow shelters), while his party had established perfume parks.
In a pointed counterattack, Adityanath remarked, "The Samajwadi Party gave us destitute cows. They abandoned cows to their fate. Their chief (Akhilesh Yadav) finds cow dung foul-smelling because during their governance, cows were handed over to butchers."
Adityanath: "We Sent Butchers to Hell, That's Their Real Complaint"
Escalating his accusations, the Chief Minister claimed that the Samajwadi Party had maintained close ties with cow smugglers and butchers. "When we sent the butchers on their path to 'jahannum' (hell), they started complaining. Their actual problem is that all their butcher friends are now in hell," Adityanath said.
He further emphasized the Samajwadi Party's inability to respect or serve cows, revered as "gau mata" (mother cow). "What would they know about serving gau mata? They only smell foulness in cow dung because their deeds have always been foul. That's precisely why their leader made such a statement," he asserted.
CM Highlights Improvement in Law and Order
Touching upon the law-and-order situation in Uttar Pradesh, Adityanath confidently stated that his government had drastically curtailed riots. "Today, rioters are writhing like rats but dare not step out because they know the severe consequences of inciting violence," he said.
Akhilesh Yadav's Earlier Statement Stirs Controversy
Earlier, on March 27, speaking in Kannauj, Akhilesh Yadav had alleged that the BJP thrives on spreading hatred and foul odor, contrasting it with his party’s promotion of fragrance through perfume parks. "Kannauj has always spread the fragrance of brotherhood, but the BJP spreads the stench of hatred," Yadav had remarked.
Yadav had urged residents to eliminate the "BJP's stench" completely, advocating the resumption of development in Kannauj, adding sarcastically, "They (the BJP) like foul smell, that's why they are building gaushalas. We like fragrance, that's why we established perfume parks."
The sharp exchange highlights an escalating political rivalry ahead of future elections, underscoring the deep ideological differences between the BJP and Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh.
