Lucknow, February 28 – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday paid homage to Dr. Rajendra Prasad, India's first President, on his death anniversary, acknowledging his invaluable contributions to the nation's progress.

In a post on X, Adityanath described Prasad as a "great freedom fighter" and the "Chairman of the Constituent Assembly," highlighting his dedication to democratic values. "Your entire life, fragrant with values and ideals, is a school of democracy. Your contribution to building a 'prosperous India' will always be remembered," he stated.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad, a key figure in India's independence movement and the country's first President, was born on December 3, 1884, in Bihar. He passed away on February 28, 1963, in Patna at the age of 78.

Adityanath’s tribute underscores the enduring legacy of Prasad, whose leadership and commitment played a crucial role in shaping modern India.
