Ballia, Uttar Pradesh (March 2) – Three teachers, including a former educator from a convent school in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district, have been booked for allegedly kidnapping a Class 10 student. The incident came to light after the girl’s father filed a police complaint.
According to Ballia Police, the 16-year-old girl, residing in a village under Ubhaon Police Station jurisdiction, left her home on February 25 to appear for an examination. However, she did not return home, raising alarm among her family members.
Following investigations, authorities identified Ajay Chauhan, a former teacher at the same school, as the primary suspect. Police claim Chauhan abducted the student with assistance from two current teachers, Priyanshu Yadav and Sandeep Shukla.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anil Kumar Jha confirmed that an FIR has been registered against the accused under sections 137(2) for kidnapping and 61(2)A for criminal conspiracy, under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The investigation is ongoing, and police teams have been deployed to apprehend the accused.
