- Scope: Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) of a 200 MLD (million liters per day) Independent Sewage Treatment Plant, including outfall delivery facilities.
- Client: Al Haer Environmental Services Company, under a consortium comprising Miahona Company (lead), Marafiq, and N.V. Besix S.A.
- Off-taker: Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's principal authority for water and wastewater projects.
Consortium and Strategic Importance
The EPC consortium consists of:- VA Tech Wabag: Technology Partner & EPC Leader, responsible for the design and construction of the treatment plant.
- Mutlaq Al-Ghowairi Contracting Company (MGC): Handling transmission pipeline laying and reservoir construction.
Repeat Order & Middle East Expansion
Wabag has an extensive track record in Saudi Arabia, having previously secured:- A 20 MLD Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant (IWWTP) order at the Ras Tanura Refinery Complex, also involving Miahona Company.
