Mumbai, March 1: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar expressed deep concern on Saturday regarding the increasing commodification and commercialisation affecting India's healthcare and education sectors. Speaking at the annual day event of KPB Hinduja College in South Mumbai, Dhankhar emphasized that philanthropic initiatives must resist adopting these commercially-driven approaches.

Highlighting India's rich cultural heritage, the Vice President stated, “Sanatan has been integral to India's civilisational ethos and essence.” He further asserted the importance of integrating Sanatan values into the country’s culture and education systems, describing it as a philosophy rooted deeply in inclusivity and equality.

“Philanthropic endeavours should not be driven by the philosophy of commodification and commercialisation. Our healthcare and education systems are being plagued by these,” Dhankhar remarked.

Further elaborating on education, Dhankhar termed it as the most powerful transformative tool capable of fostering equality in society. He called for a renewed commitment to education rooted firmly in Indian traditions and values to achieve meaningful progress and social justice.
