Bollywood actor Vidya Balan has issued a strong warning to her fans regarding multiple fake, AI-generated videos that falsely portray her image and are currently circulating across social media platforms and WhatsApp. The acclaimed star, known for hit films such as Kahaani, The Dirty Picture, Tumhari Sulu, and Sherni, clarified through her official Instagram handle that she is not associated with these misleading clips.

Balan, 46, took to Instagram on Saturday, sharing one of the fraudulent videos to highlight the issue clearly to her audience. In the caption, she emphasized, "There are multiple videos currently circulating on social media and WhatsApp, which appear to feature me. However, I want to clarify that the videos are AI-generated and inauthentic. I have no involvement in its creation or dissemination, nor do I endorse its content in any way."

She further requested fans and followers to exercise caution, stating explicitly, "Any claims made in the videos should not be attributed to me, as it does not reflect my views or work. I urge everyone to verify information before sharing and be cautious of misleading AI-generated content." She accompanied her message with hashtags such as #FakeAlert and #StayAware to boost awareness about digital misinformation.

The incident involving Balan isn't isolated. AI-generated content misrepresenting celebrities has become increasingly common. Prominent actors such as Rashmika Mandanna, Katrina Kaif, Aamir Khan, and Ranveer Singh have previously faced similar issues, where unauthorized, AI-generated videos went viral on social media.

Vidya Balan's latest movie appearance was in the 2024 horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
