Virat Kohli’s retirement from Test cricket has drawn heartfelt tributes from top Andhra Pradesh leaders, with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu calling it the end of a "remarkable chapter in Indian sports."
Taking to social media platform 'X', Naidu said, "Virat Kohli's retirement from Test cricket concludes a remarkable chapter in Indian sports. His passion, discipline, and leadership have inspired millions and brought great pride to the nation." He also wished Kohli the best for the next phase of his journey.
Nara Lokesh: "A Legend Signs Off"
State IT Minister and TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh echoed similar sentiments, describing Kohli as a legend who redefined India’s Test cricket legacy. "Virat Kohli's passion, intensity, and unmatched commitment redefined India's Test cricket legacy. An inspiration to millions of young cricketers across the world," he wrote on 'X'.Lokesh thanked the former Indian captain for elevating cricketing standards and noted, "Few have carried the weight of expectations with such grace and delivered with such consistency."
Jagan Mohan Reddy Lauds Kohli’s Legacy
YSRCP chief and former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy also joined the chorus of admiration. Calling Kohli "one of the greatest Indian cricketers", Reddy highlighted the player’s unwavering hunger for excellence and consistency."His records speak louder than words, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations. I wish him continued success in his future endeavours," Reddy said in his tribute post on 'X'.

Kohli, who made his Test debut in 2011, announced his retirement from the longest format of the game on Monday. During his illustrious career, he led India to the top of the ICC Test rankings and was instrumental in scripting a historic series victory in Australia in 2018-19 — a first for India on Australian soil.The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also paid tribute to Kohli, acknowledging his immense contribution to the sport and stating that his "legacy will continue forever."
