Mumbai, May 15 – Acclaimed filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj has come on board as executive producer for Two Sinners, a hard-hitting short film directed by debutant Samir Zaidi. Known for cinematic gems such as Haider, Omkara, and Maqbool, Bhardwaj’s association adds weight to the project that delves into themes of morality, justice, and patriarchy.

Samir Zaidi brings a strong background to his directorial debut, having collaborated with Bhardwaj on Apple’s Fursat and Netflix’s Khufiya. His assistant director credits include international and Indian titles like Extraction, The White Tiger, and Anek.Zaidi said the film originates from a personal experience and aims to explore the psychological toll of retribution.
“This film is drawn from a deeply personal space – it examines the cyclical nature of violence, where victims can become perpetrators,” Zaidi explained. “Through the film, I hope to provoke reflection on the fragile line between retribution and empathy.”

The film stars Shardul Bhardwaj of Eeb Allay Ooo! fame, who was named a 2024 BAFTA Breakthrough Talent from India.Two Sinners is produced by Samir Zaidi and Shivam Gupta, with actor Vipin Sharma (Taare Zameen Par) serving as co-producer. Probir Umesh Sabnis and Sohail Anjum also join as executive producers.
