New Delhi, Feb 3 (PTI): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday urged the people of Delhi to choose between progress and "misconduct" as they head to the polls on February 5. Leading multiple roadshows on the last day of campaigning, Mann rallied support for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), emphasizing the importance of education, women’s empowerment, and overall development.
Addressing gatherings in Adarsh Nagar and Shalimar Bagh, where he campaigned for AAP candidates Mukesh Goel and Bandana Kumari, Mann highlighted the stark choices before voters. "Today marks the final day of the election campaign, and February 5 is your last opportunity to decide which party will shape Delhi's future," he said.
Taking a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Mann remarked, "I don't know about 'Achhe Din,' but the Aam Aadmi Party will certainly bring honest and better days." Referring to AAP's welfare-driven policies, he claimed that if the party retains power, every Delhi household could save between ₹20,000 and ₹25,000 per month under its 'Bachat Patra' initiative, which outlines financial relief through government schemes.
Mann also took a swipe at the BJP over alleged attempts to sway voters through financial inducements. "The BJP has a lot of money. They may approach you today, tonight, tomorrow, or even the day after with cash offers," he stated. Urging voters to act wisely, he added, "If they come offering money, take it and buy essentials, but when you cast your vote, press the 'broom' button," referring to AAP’s election symbol.
With voting set for February 5, the Delhi Assembly election has reached a decisive phase. The results will be declared on February 8, determining the future political landscape of the national capital.
