Kolkata, May 15 – West Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose was discharged on Thursday morning from a private hospital in Kolkata, nearly three weeks after being admitted with shoulder pain. Hospital officials confirmed that the governor underwent a medical intervention and has now recovered well.

According to the hospital’s statement, Bose was admitted on April 22 following complaints of shoulder discomfort, which developed after a strenuous field visit. Subsequent medical evaluations revealed that he had mild coronary artery disease.

"He underwent an intervention procedure and responded positively to the treatment. At the time of discharge, his oxygen saturation was at 100 per cent, with normal blood pressure and blood glucose levels," the hospital stated.

Doctors have advised the governor to reduce his workload and maintain a slower pace until his next medical reassessment.

The governor was initially rushed to the Eastern Command Hospital on April 21 after feeling unwell upon returning from riot-hit areas in Murshidabad district. He was later transferred to the private facility on April 22, where he remained under treatment until his discharge.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited Bose at both medical facilities and has been closely monitoring his recovery.
