Woman donates 35 years of savings to TTD educational institution in Andhra

Tirupati, Feb 3 (PTI) – In a remarkable act of generosity, a 70-year-old woman has donated ₹50 lakh—her entire savings accumulated over 35 years—to the Sri Venkateswara Sarva Shreyas (SV Balamandir) Trust of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).

C Mohana, a resident of Renigunta, contributed the amount from her lifetime earnings, which she meticulously saved while serving in various roles in the development and disaster management sector. Her professional journey spanned across multiple countries, including Kosovo, Albania, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, and India, with her work also extending to the United Nations.

According to a press release issued by the temple body, "A septuagenarian donor (Mohana) has donated every penny she saved in the last 35 years of her service in various positions… towards the welfare of orphaned and underprivileged children studying in the TTD educational institution."

Mohana presented her donation in the form of a demand draft to TTD Additional Executive Officer Ch Venkaiah Chowdary in Tirumala.

The TTD, which manages the revered Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati, oversees several charitable initiatives, including educational institutions aimed at supporting orphaned and financially disadvantaged children.

Mohana’s selfless contribution stands as an inspiring example of philanthropy and commitment to social welfare, ensuring that her lifelong earnings will now help uplift the lives of many underprivileged children.
