Thane, Feb 3 (PTI) – A shocking incident unfolded in Maharashtra’s Thane district on Monday when a 42-year-old woman was brutally stabbed to death in public by her neighbor over a financial dispute, police reported.
The victim, identified as Seema Kamble, was attacked in broad daylight in the Barkupada area of Ambernath by her neighbor, Rahul Dingarkar, an official confirmed. The altercation reportedly stemmed from money that Kamble had lent to Dingarkar, which led to a heated argument between the two.
During the dispute, Dingarkar allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Kamble multiple times, causing her to collapse on the spot. She succumbed to her injuries shortly after the attack.
Authorities were alerted, and the police swiftly apprehended the accused. A case has been registered under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), officials said.
Meanwhile, an investigation is underway, with police recording statements from witnesses and local residents to gather further details about the crime.
