Reasi, February 10: The Reasi District Administration observed Safer Internet Day 2026 by organizing a large-scale awareness workshop on the theme "Stay Alert in the Age of AI: Safe and Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence." The program, under the MeitY's ISEA Project, aimed to promote cyber hygiene and responsible use of the internet and AI, especially among students. Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik, the chief guest, cautioned against rising cybercrime, cyberbullying, misinformation, and AI-enabled frauds such as phishing, malware, and fake calls. She urged students to adopt safe digital practices and act as cyber safety ambassadors. The workshop, conducted in a hybrid mode, connected 52 schools and saw the participation of nearly 1,500 students and staff. District Informatics Officer Asheesh Kumar Dogra led the session, highlighting cyber threats, data protection, digital privacy, and responsible online behavior. Additional Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar also addressed the gathering, emphasizing awareness against online financial scams. The event concluded with participants taking a pledge for the safe and responsible use of AI and participating in national-level quiz activities.
