Lucknow, Feb 3 (PTI) – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday extended warm wishes to the seers, saints, and devotees who took part in the third grand ‘Amrit Snan’ at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. The sacred ritual coincided with Basant Panchami, an auspicious day in the Hindu calendar.
In a post on X, Adityanath stated:
Officials confirmed that the chief minister is closely monitoring the overall situation and staying updated on the ‘Amrit Snan’ proceedings from his residence in Lucknow.“Hearty congratulations to the revered saints, religious leaders, all Akharas, Kalpvasis, and devotees who earned the benefits of virtue by taking the holy ‘Amrit’ bath at the sacred Triveni Sangam on the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami in Maha Kumbh, Prayagraj!”
Why This Matters
- Spiritual Significance: The Maha Kumbh is a revered event where pilgrims gather to take a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam—confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati—seeking spiritual purification.
- Mass Participation: Millions travel from across India and beyond to witness or partake in the grand festivities, especially during key bathing dates like Basant Panchami.
