Security is the Bedrock of Development, Says UP CM

Gorakhpur, May 11: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday reaffirmed that growth and prosperity can only be achieved in a secure environment. Speaking at a public event in Gorakhpur, Adityanath declared that a "strong and secure environment" has now been established across the state, driving rapid development in every district.

The chief minister was addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone of the ‘Shri Paramhansa Yogananda Janmasthali Smriti Bhavan’, a memorial dedicated to the globally revered spiritual leader. The project, estimated at Rs 27.68 crore, is set to be completed within 18 months and will be located near the Kotwali Police Station in Gorakhpur.

Strong Message on Security and Nationalism

Criticizing previous administrations, Adityanath said, "Before 2017, mafias and corrupt individuals operated parallel to the government, grabbing land and obstructing development. Today, no one dares to encroach on property or harass women and traders."

Declaring Pakistan a "terror state," the chief minister noted that BrahMos missiles, which targeted a Pakistani aircraft, will now be manufactured in Lucknow, adding that Uttar Pradesh’s artillery will instill fear in adversaries. “The fight for the nation is everyone’s fight,” he asserted.

Honouring Spiritual Legacy

Speaking on India's rich spiritual heritage, Adityanath emphasized the importance of staying connected to one’s roots. “Paramhansa Yogananda’s legacy will be preserved through this yoga temple, honouring his global impact in spreading yoga and Indian spirituality,” he said.

The memorial is expected to become a global spiritual landmark. Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan, also present at the event, said the memorial would resonate as far as Los Angeles, drawing international followers of Yogananda.

Swami Ishwarananda of the Yogoda Satsanga Society commended the chief minister for gifting a sacred pilgrimage site to the followers of Paramhansa Yogananda worldwide.

Project Oversight

Yogi Adityanath personally reviewed the project layout and directed officials to ensure timely and high-quality execution of the memorial. The initiative is seen as a significant step in reinforcing Uttar Pradesh's cultural identity while promoting tourism and spiritual heritage.
