Chief Minister Assures Transformation Similar to Ayodhya, Varanasi, and Prayagraj

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday pledged comprehensive development for the sacred Braj region, encompassing Mathura, Vrindavan, and Barsana, comparing the upcoming transformation to successful projects in Ayodhya, Varanasi, and Prayagraj.

Speaking during the inauguration of "Rangotsav 2025" in Barsana, Adityanath stressed the importance of rejuvenating the Yamuna River, emphasizing that its restoration and cleanliness efforts would mirror the successful rejuvenation of the Ganga witnessed in Kashi (Varanasi) and Prayagraj.

BJP's Return to Power in Delhi Boosts Yamuna Revival Plans

Expressing satisfaction with the BJP's return to governance in Delhi, Chief Minister Adityanath remarked on the increased focus on addressing pollution in the Yamuna River, particularly the segment flowing through the national capital, previously governed by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

He stated, "Just as Ayodhya has been transformed into a magnificent city and Prayagraj has emerged as the king of all pilgrimage sites, it is now time for Braj to shine."

Infrastructure Projects Worth Over ₹100 Crore Underway

Highlighting substantial infrastructural investments, Adityanath noted ongoing projects valued at more than ₹100 crore in the Braj region. Among these projects, the development of a modern ropeway facility is expected to significantly enhance the pilgrimage experience for devotees visiting sacred sites.

The chief minister emphasized that financial constraints would never impede the progress of Braj, reiterating, "Funds will never be a constraint for the progress of this sacred land."

Commitment to Yamuna’s Revival and Heritage Preservation

Adityanath assured devotees and spiritual leaders that initiatives were already underway to make the Yamuna "aviral and nirmal"—uninterrupted and clean—restoring its former glory reminiscent of times when Lord Krishna played on its banks.

The chief minister praised the significant accomplishments seen in other spiritual cities, including the historic Mahakumbh in Prayagraj and the recent consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, crediting these successes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership.

"Since 2014, India has witnessed a unique blend of heritage and development. We have seen this in Mahakumbh, Kashi, Ayodhya, and Vindhyachal, and today, I see it here in Barsana," Adityanath said.

Festivities Highlighting Unique Traditions of Barsana

Extending his greetings on the festive occasion of Holi, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath urged devotees to uphold and celebrate Barsana’s unique Holi traditions. These include the vibrant Laddoo-Maar Holi, celebrated at Radha Rani Temple a day prior to the renowned Lathmar Holi.

During Laddoo-Maar Holi, devotees and temple priests joyfully throw laddoos at one another as symbolic gestures of love and festivity, marking the official commencement of Holi celebrations in Barsana, the birthplace of Goddess Radha.

Adityanath encouraged everyone to participate enthusiastically in these culturally rich celebrations, keeping alive the region's cherished heritage and vibrant customs.
