The PDP's youth convention in Hajin saw Iltija Mufti raise concerns about jobs, education, reservation, and Article 370, and urged young people to engage democratically for their rights and future.
February 15, Bandipora: The Peoples Democratic Party organised a Youth Convention at Town Hall, Hajin, with enthusiastic participation from young people and party workers from across the area.
Youth leader Iltija Mufti, along with other senior youth leaders of the party, addressed the gathering and discussed the challenges faced by young people in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in employment, education, reservation, and political representation.
During her address, Iltija Mufti criticised the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference-led government for allegedly failing to fulfil its promises, accusing it of betraying the people on key issues, including Article 370, the restoration of statehood, and reservation.
She further alleged that National Conference legislators were avoiding basic issues in their constituencies and had failed to take concrete steps to address public concerns. She said that reservation had been a major poll promise, but inaction had left thousands of young people uncertain about their future.
Emphasising youth participation in democratic processes, she appealed to the young generation to support PDP candidates in the upcoming elections, assuring that the party would prioritise public grievances and safeguard the rights and aspirations of the people. Other party leaders also reiterated PDP's commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, accountability, and amplifying youth voices.
