ZP elections in Maharashtra: Video shows 14-year-old `casting vote' in Akluj.webp

Pune, February 7 A viral video showed a 14-year-old boy, accompanied by his father, casting a vote at a polling station in Akluj, Solapur district, during Saturday's Zilla Parishad elections.

The video shows Arjun Sinh Mohite Patil's son standing next to his father inside a polling booth in Yashwant Nagar, and pressing the button on the EVM.

Mohite Patil said that his son simply wanted to see how voting was conducted.

"My son wanted to see how a vote is cast, and that's why I took him inside. The polling officials raised objections, but I requested them to allow him to stand next to me while I cast my vote. I don't think there's anything wrong with that," he said.
