Budaun (UP), April 7 Two men were killed after a speeding car collided with their motorcycle on the Budaun-Agra road here, police said on Tuesday.
The accident occurred around 11:30 pm on Monday near the Bitroi railway crossing. The fast-moving car, coming from the opposite direction, hit their motorcycle head-on, they said.
The victims – identified as Akash (20), a resident of the Mujaria area in Budaun district, and his brother-in-law Sumit (21), a resident of Sambhal district – were returning home after attending the last rites of a relative at Kachhla Ganga Ghat, they said.
Akash died on the spot, while Sumit sustained critical injuries. He was rushed to the Government Medical College with the help of passersby, where he later succumbed during treatment, police said.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Hirdesh Kumar Katheria said the bodies have been sent for post-mortem after completing legal formalities.
Both the vehicles involved in the accident were seized, he said.
