
Meteorological Department Srinagar predicts generally dry weather today, light rain and snowfall expected from March 9, widespread precipitation likely across Jammu and Kashmir till mid-March
March 08, Srinagar: The India Meteorological Department Srinagar has forecast generally dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir on March 8.
According to the department, skies will remain mostly cloudy on March 9 with chances of light rain over the plains and light snowfall over higher reaches at isolated places.
From March 10 to 12, the weather is expected to remain cloudy with light rain and snowfall at many places across the Union Territory. Higher reaches of Kupwara district, Bandipora district, Ganderbal district and Anantnag district are likely to receive moderate snowfall during this period.
Between March 13 and 17, weather conditions are likely to stay generally cloudy with brief spells of light rain or snowfall at isolated places.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued an advisory for farmers, recommending suspension of farm operations from March 10 to 12 due to the expected wet weather conditions.
The department has also predicted a fall in day temperatures by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius after March 9. Residents and travellers have been advised to remain cautious and stay updated with official weather advisories.
