Mumbai, April 11 Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has written a profound note about dealing with an overactive mind and shared that while each day brings fresh ideas, the pressure to keep up leads to anxiety.
In a blog post, the icon wrote: "Each day brings fresh thoughts and ideas, and the desire to pursue each one with the diligence it requires. But all of this cannot be accomplished at once, so you work on the principle of 'one at a time.' Fine, but the mind keeps reminding you of what still needs to be done, and the anxiety that comes with it."
He shared that the challenge of focusing on one task at a time in an age dominated by rapid information and ever-evolving ways of thinking.
"So you leave everything and sit back, hoping that your mind will stop its 'adventure.' But it doesn't. And the storm of the internet blows strong, driving your attention to so many aspects that it becomes very difficult to assess what is 'real.' The lack of content that could be useful is often overlooked or ignored," he wrote.
The actor added: "Now, there are provisions to find and correct thoughts and search for answers, which has dramatically improved. The speed of knowing is now at the press of a button, not the 'think button' of the cerebrum. This medium, called the 'net,' has overshadowed this. And the revelations force one to follow the latest and ignore the earlier usual."
"For those who have lived through the early times and now find themselves overwhelmed by strikingly different methods, it is a fascinating tale of time. 'Times' were always an important element to rely upon, and they bring in a sense of nostalgia. Those who have lived through the past understand this. For the 'present,' it may not be relevant. They are involved in the 'now,' just as we were when we were their age, facing new inventions and directives. Fascinating," he concluded.
