SEETI 2.0: Showcasing Northeast Food Traditions.webp

Shillong, March 24 Meghalaya's Master Chef Nambi Marak will participate in SEETI 2.0, a six-day culinary and cultural initiative, alongside local and national culinary talents. The event, organized in Meghalaya from March 26, will bring together chefs, storytellers, creators, and cultural voices for a series of curated experiences across the state, officials said on Tuesday.

Other participating chefs include Benny Wankhar, Vishesh Jawarani, Adonijah Lyngdoh, Ahme Laloo, and Reuben Zamal Sooting.

Organizers said the event aims to showcase the Northeast's rich and diverse food traditions by creating a platform that connects local communities with national culinary talent.

The program will feature curated dining experiences centered on indigenous ingredients, collaborations between regional and visiting chefs, and immersive cultural interactions with local communities.

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said the initiative reflects the state's cultural vibrancy and the creativity of its youth.

"SEETI 2.0 celebrates the spirit of our communities and provides a platform for our youth to innovate and share Meghalaya's story with the world," he said in a statement.

Officials said the initiative also aligns with the state's push towards promoting sustainable and community-linked tourism models rooted in local identity.

Organizers said that despite its rich traditions, the Northeastern region remains underrepresented in mainstream culinary narratives, and the Meghalaya edition of SEETI seeks to bridge this gap by amplifying local voices and fostering collaborations.
