Temperatures to Rise Sharply in Western Rajasthan; Isolated Rains Expected Elsewhere
Jaipur, May 12 – Parts of Rajasthan are set to experience a significant rise in temperatures beginning Tuesday, with severe heat conditions forecasted by the Meteorological Department.According to the latest advisory, western Rajasthan will likely witness a drop in thunderstorms and rainfall activities. This shift in weather is expected to push daytime temperatures higher by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the coming days.
The Met Office has warned explicitly that maximum temperatures in the border regions of Jodhpur and Bikaner could soar to 44–45 degrees Celsius starting May 14.
Over the past 24 hours, Bikaner recorded a peak temperature of 42.3 degrees Celsius, underlining the rising mercury levels in the region.
Other divisions may receive some relief despite the intensifying heat in the western parts. On Tuesday, the Jaipur weather office said that light to moderate rainfall is expected in isolated areas across Bikaner, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Udaipur, and Kota divisions.
Authorities have urged residents to stay cautious during peak heat hours and take necessary precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses.
